Vida Glow Luminous is a once-daily brightening capsule built around glutathione that actually absorbs: 300mg of Nano-bright™ liposomal nano-glutathione, with amla, nicotinamide, beta-carotene and the Phyto-Protect complex of lemon verbena, rosemary, olive leaf and Styphnolobium japonicum, for uneven tone, dullness and pigmentation from within. In the brand's 12-week trial, 93% of participants saw brighter skin. 30 capsules, one month. Not recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding.

When to use One capsule daily, preferably on an empty stomach
How it works

Glutathione, delivered

Glutathione is the body's master antioxidant and, in skin, it nudges melanin production away from the darker eumelanin, which is why it has long been used orally for brightening. The problem has always been absorption: taken plainly, most is broken down before it reaches the blood. Luminous uses Nano-bright™, a liposomal nano-glutathione the brand reports is 90% absorbed, 300mg per capsule equivalent to 210mg of glutathione.

The supporting bench

Amla, the Indian gooseberry, is one of the richest natural sources of vitamin C and supports the body's own glutathione levels. Nicotinamide, the oral form of niacinamide, is the B vitamin with the best evidence for pigmentation and photodamage. Beta-carotene from Dunaliella salina algae and the Phyto-Protect complex of lemon verbena, rosemary, olive leaf and Styphnolobium japonicum, a source of rutin, add antioxidant cover against the oxidative stress that triggers pigment in the first place.

What the brand reports

In a 12-week trial of 28 participants, 93% saw brighter skin and 86% an improvement in overall skin health. A small, brand-run study, which is the honest framing.

The fit

The inside half of a pigmentation routine. Topical tyrosinase inhibitors such as Discoloration Defense work on the enzyme; Luminous works on the antioxidant balance and melanin type from within. Daily SPF remains the other half of any result.

Who it suits

Dull, uneven skin and stubborn pigmentation that topical products alone are slow to shift; melasma-prone skin wanting support from the inside; and anyone building a brightening routine who wants the oral step alongside the serum.

Worth knowing

Not recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding. Check with your practitioner before combining with other supplements or medication. Glutathione is not a bleach and will not lighten skin beyond its natural tone; what it does is even out and brighten. Results in the trial appeared over twelve weeks of daily use.

How to use

Adults: one capsule once daily, preferably on an empty stomach, first thing in the morning or last thing at night.

Pair with SPF 50 every morning; without it, pigment work from the inside is undone from the outside.

Layering

Use alongside

Discoloration Defense or Oxy-R Peptides on the skin for the topical brightening step, C E Ferulic and SPF by day, a retinoid at night. Pro Collagen+ as the daily collagen if firmness is also a goal.
