Smooth Affair Brightening is the original Smooth Affair: a silicone-and-water base that fills pores and fine lines so foundation sits evenly, carrying an unusually long list of actives for a primer. White and green tea extracts and olive leaf bring antioxidants, two forms of vitamin C work on brightness, apple extract and apple stem-cell culture on hydration and tone, palmitoyl tripeptide-1 on the look of firmness, and aloe, zinc PCA and royal jelly condition and calm.

Mineral powder foundation needs some slip and moisture to grip. This gives PurePressed Base an even, hydrated surface to sit on, extends its wear and stops it looking dry by afternoon, with a natural glow rather than the pearl of the Illuminating Glow version.

Not vegan: contains royal jelly. Contains citrus peel extracts and a light natural scent, so check it with a citrus or fragrance sensitivity, and avoid with a bee-product allergy. Wheat-free. A pea-sized amount covers the face.

Mornings, after serum and sunscreen have set: warm a pea-sized amount between fingers and press over the whole face, letting it settle for a minute before foundation.

Can be worn alone on a no-makeup day for a smoothed, brighter finish.
