Polynucleotides are short chains of nucleotides, the building blocks of DNA, purified from salmon. Salmon is used because its DNA sequence has high homology with human DNA while carrying none of the viral risk associated with mammalian sources.

The proposed mechanism is that these fragments act as both raw material and signalling molecules for fibroblasts, the cells that produce collagen and elastin, while holding substantial quantities of water within tissue.

PharmaResearch manufacture using a proprietary purification process and hold patents on the technology. The brand launched in 2014 and is now used in more than fifty countries.

The skincare is not the injectable. This distinction matters more here than for any other brand we carry.

Rejuran's reputation, and the research behind it, comes from an injectable treatment delivered into the dermis by a practitioner. Polynucleotides are large molecules, and the outer skin barrier is specifically structured to exclude molecules of that size.

A topical polynucleotide product may well do useful things at the surface, holding water and supporting the barrier. Claiming the benefits demonstrated by injection is a different matter, and the evidence does not transfer.

The range is not vegan. Polynucleotides are salmon-derived. Anyone with a severe fish allergy should take medical advice before use, though the material is purified to remove the proteins that drive fish allergy.
