iS Clinical formulate around what they call extremozymes: compounds derived from organisms that survive extreme environments, deserts, deep ocean vents, arctic ice. The reasoning is that organisms adapted to extreme conditions produce protective compounds that may be useful applied to skin.

The range leans heavily on botanical extracts alongside more conventional actives. Formulations tend to combine several plant-derived ingredients rather than concentrating on one high-percentage active, which produces a different profile from ranges built around retinoids or acids.
