Brightening Complex

Three brighteners, one pathway

Alpha-arbutin, the enzymatically produced form that binds tyrosinase more strongly than botanical beta-arbutin, leads, slowing pigment manufacture at its source. Tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate, an oil-soluble vitamin C ester that slips into skin lipids intact, adds its own tyrosinase brake plus antioxidant support, and licorice root contributes glabridin, the third inhibitor plus a soother. Three different grips on the same enzyme beat one strong grip for tolerability.

The turnover assist

Willow bark, second in the formula, with sugarcane and bilberry botanicals keeps marked surface cells retiring on schedule, so brightening underneath shows sooner. Gentle chemistry rather than free acids: refinement without a peel’s demands.

The comfortable vehicle

Hyaluronic acid sits remarkably high in the list, joined by squalane, seaweed (ascophyllum) and imperata for moisture, a pigment treatment that behaves like a pleasant cream, which matters, because pigment work is a months-long relationship.

The standing condition

Daily SPF, without which any brightener is bailing a boat with the tap running.

Uneven tone, sun-accumulated spots and post-blemish marks in skin that wants a cream-textured, daily-wearable brightener, including drier and more mature skin that finds acid-forward pigment serums too demanding.

Worth knowing

Avoid with an aspirin (salicylate) allergy, willow bark is high in the formula. Contains fragrance; patch test if sensitive. Take advice before use during pregnancy, and remember hormone-driven pigmentation is worth our clinicians’ assessment before you spend months treating it from the shelf.

Morning and/or evening on clean, dry skin: massage a small amount over the full face rather than spot-treating, even application avoids edge lines. Follow with moisturiser if needed and SPF every morning.

Judge it at eight to twelve weeks; consistent daily use is what moves pigment.

Use alongside
