Sheald Recovery Balm

Sale price$44.00

A recovery balm combining petrolatum-grade occlusion with ceramides, cholesterol and soothing botanicals, for compromised and post-procedure skin as directed.

When to use As needed, recovery periods, final step
How it works

The seal

Petrolatum remains dermatology’s most evidence-backed occlusive, nothing slows water loss from stressed skin more reliably, and here it is refined into a balm that spreads thin and stays put, holding a humid micro-environment over skin that needs one.

The rebuild materials

Under that seal sits a skin-identical lipid delivery: ceramides NP, AP and EOP alongside cholesterol and phytosphingosine, the same families, in the same company, that the barrier itself is constructed from. A compromised barrier is not just dry; it is materially depleted, and this is the material.

The comfort bench

Sodium hyaluronate second in the formula for water, beta-glucan and oat kernel, two of dermatology’s oldest soothers, panthenol, red algae, and kava, the Pacific botanical traditionally valued for calming sensation.

When to use it

After clinic treatments (on your practitioner’s timing), through winter wind and retinoid adjustment weeks, and anywhere skin has been asked for too much. It is a recovery tool, not an everyday moisturiser, skin that always needs it should see a clinician.

Who it suits

Post-procedure skin (as directed by your practitioner), compromised and weather-beaten barriers, retinoid overshoot, and the chronically sensitive during flare weeks. Gentle enough for the eye area and lips.

Worth knowing

Fragrance-free. Contains a trace of retinyl palmitate late in the formula, not enough for a retinoid effect, but if pregnant, mention it to your clinician alongside everything else you use. Contains oat and corn kernel extracts; the true grain-allergic should patch test.

How to use

Apply a thin layer to affected areas as often as needed, post-procedure, follow your practitioner’s instructions on when to begin and how long to continue. As an overnight barrier rescue, apply as the final step over any serum your skin is currently tolerating.

A little covers a lot; the 15g travel size outlasts most recovery windows.

Layering

Use alongside

The heavy-recovery chair, shared with Rescue: Sheald is the petrolatum-and-ceramide clinical option, Rescue the shea-and-botanical one, clinics tend to send Sheald home after procedures, while Rescue doubles as a weekly mask. During recovery keep the routine to cleanser, Hydra-Cool if cleared, Sheald, SPF by day, and let everything else wait. It also quietly fixes windburnt cheeks, flaky patches and post-flight lips year-round.
