A lysate of hemp plant cells grown in laboratory culture — the plant equivalent of a stem-cell preparation, broken open to release its contents.
What it is not
This ingredient contains no CBD and no THC. Callus culture uses undifferentiated plant cells that do not produce cannabinoids; the ingredient is legal, non-psychoactive and unrelated to hemp-oil or CBD skincare.
How it works
Research associates plant callus lysates with antioxidant and skin-conditioning activity, supplied by the amino acids, sugars and phytonutrients released from the cultured cells.
