Resurfacing, rethought

Most resurfacing dissolves; this one persuades. Hydroxyethyl urea, second on the ingredient list, softens and hydrates the surface while HEPES gently activates the enzymes skin already uses to release spent cells: turnover encouraged by skin's own machinery rather than forced by acid.

The replenishing half

Urea belongs to skin's own Natural Moisturising Factor, so the exfoliation arrives with hydration built in, joined by hyaluronic acid and a kombucha-style black tea ferment. The surface polishes without the tight, stripped feeling acids can leave.

Where it fits

The texture serum for skin that cannot befriend acids, and a clever addition for skin that already has: a smoother surface added to the routine without another sun-sensitising step.

Rough, flaky or dull texture on skin that finds acids hostile; sensitive routines that still want visible polish; and experienced active users who would rather not add to the irritation arithmetic.

Worth knowing

Acid-free, fragrance-free, and no added sun-sensitivity caveat, which is precisely its point. As useful below the jaw as above it: rough elbows, heels and post-flight skin are all fair game.

Morning or evening on cleansed skin: four to six drops over the face, or targeted to rough patches, before moisturiser.

Twice daily is fine from the start; there is no acclimatisation period to manage.

Use alongside

Under moisturiser in any routine. With C E Ferulic in the morning and a retinal at night it completes a renewal program without a single acid; if Cell Cycle Catalyst is already in rotation, alternate the two rather than stacking them.
