How it works

The ratio on the label

Skin's outer barrier is mortared with lipids in a particular proportion, and the supply of all three thins with age. The 2:4:2 of the name is the answer: 2% pure ceramides, 4% cholesterol and 2% omega fatty acids, blended to mirror the mortar rather than approximate it, with cholesterol deliberately in the lead because mature skin misses it most.

What restored lipids look like

Fed the right ratio, skin behaves visibly better: plumper-looking, more evenly hydrated, fine dryness lines softened and the end-of-day tightness gone. Sunflower unsaponifiables and vitamin E round out the lipid bench.

The texture event

A rich, cushioning cream with an aromatic lavender, rosemary and mint signature that has earned a following of its own. It melts in rather than sitting on top.

Who it suits

Dry, mature skin that no longer holds moisture the way it used to; skin wanting serious comfort through retinoid programs or after clinic treatments, on your practitioner's advice; and normal skin wintering in cold, dry air.

Worth knowing

The aromatic signature comes from lavender, rosemary and peppermint oils, with linalool and limonene on the label: a pleasure for most, a patch test for the fragrance-reactive. The peppermint lends the first minutes a faint, deliberate cool.

How to use

Morning and evening as the final step: a pea-sized amount warmed between fingertips and pressed over face and neck once serums have settled.

A little genuinely goes a long way; the jar is smaller than its lifespan suggests.

Layering

Use alongside

The closing cream over C E Ferulic by day or a retinal by night, with H.A. Intensifier underneath when skin wants the full plumping stack. Choosing within the range: lipids and comfort live here, deep-wrinkle correction with the A.G.E. creams.
