Medik8 Cleansers
A cleanser is the one product you use twice a day for the rest of your life, so it is worth getting right, and Medik8 makes seven for different skins and different jobs. Epios Skin stocks all of them as an authorised Australian stockist: Gentle Cleanse for normal and sensitive skin, Surface Radiance Cleanse with its mild acids for dull skin, Clarifying Foam and Pore Cleanse Gel Intense for congestion, Total Moisture Daily Cleansing Gel for dry skin, Micellar Mousse for the gentlest wash, and Lipid-Balance Cleansing Oil to take off sunscreen and makeup first. Below is how to pick one, and when you need two.

Which Medik8 cleanser for your skin
- Normal or sensitive skin: Gentle Cleanse, a sulphate-free gel that cleans without tightness. The default.
- Dull or uneven skin: Surface Radiance Cleanse, with mandelic and salicylic acids at a daily-use dose.
- Oily or breakout-prone skin: Clarifying Foam for a foaming salicylic wash, or Pore Cleanse Gel Intense for a stronger acid and tea tree gel.
- Dry or dehydrated skin: Total Moisture Daily Cleansing Gel, which cleans and leaves a hydrated finish.
- Reactive skin, or no-rinse cleansing: Micellar Mousse.
- Removing SPF and makeup: Lipid-Balance Cleansing Oil as the first of two cleanses.
Double cleansing with Medik8
If you wear sunscreen daily, and you should, a single water-based cleanse rarely removes all of it. Medik8's answer is the two-step evening cleanse: Lipid-Balance Cleansing Oil to dissolve sunscreen, makeup and the day's oil, then your regular cleanser to finish. In the morning one cleanse is enough, and for very dry skin a splash of water and moisturiser can replace it altogether.
Cleansing around actives
If you use Crystal Retinal or an acid toner at night, choose the gentler cleanser, Gentle Cleanse or Total Moisture, rather than an acid one; the active does the exfoliating. Save Surface Radiance Cleanse or Clarifying Foam for the morning, or for the nights your retinoid rests. Skin that stings on cleansing is over-cleansed, not under-cleansed.
Medik8 cleanser questions
Is Gentle Cleanse suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes. It is sulphate-free, fragrance-free and the cleanser we recommend after clinic treatments once the skin is closed.
Can I use Clarifying Foam twice a day?
Most oily skins can. If it feels tight, use it at night and Gentle Cleanse in the morning.
Do I need a separate makeup remover?
Lipid-Balance Cleansing Oil is the makeup remover. It emulsifies with water and rinses clean, so there is no residue to wipe off.
Is Epios Skin an authorised Medik8 stockist?
Yes. Every Medik8 product we sell comes through the authorised Australian supply chain, so it is genuine, in date and stored correctly. Epios Skin is run by a doctor-led skin clinic in Sydney, and Medik8 is the range our clinical team reaches for most.
