Gentle Cleanse

Five gentle surfactants, no strong ones

The wash comes from cocamidopropyl betaine, two amphoteric cocoamphoacetates and two sugar-derived glucosides, surfactant families chosen for low irritation rather than dramatic foam. Together they lift oil, sunscreen and light makeup while leaving the acid mantle where it belongs.

The supporting cast

Glycerin keeps water in the skin through the rinse, yucca, a natural saponin plant, adds a soft botanical lather, and a whisper of rosemary leaf oil provides the herbal scent.

The role in the method

Medik8’s CSA philosophy, vitamin C plus sunscreen by day, vitamin A by night, asks the cleanser to prepare skin without stealing from it. This is deliberately the quiet first step, morning and evening, that lets the actives do the talking.

All skin types including sensitive, and specifically anyone running vitamin C mornings and retinoid nights who needs their cleanser to stay neutral. A natural first cleanser for teenagers and actives beginners too.

Worth knowing

Contains rosemary leaf essential oil at low level, patch test with a known rosemary or fragrance sensitivity. Removes light makeup well; heavy makeup and stubborn SPF prefer an oil cleanse first.

Morning and evening: massage a small amount over damp skin, then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.

As a double-cleanse second step it follows any cleansing oil on the shelf.
