Four of the mildest surfactant families, an isethionate, a betaine, a glucoside and a glycinate, one of them conjugated to collagen amino acids, lift oil and the day while glycerin holds water through the rinse. The design goal is a cleanser that ends with skin feeling watered, not scoured.

The humectant that stays behind

Saccharide isomerate is the clever passenger: a plant-derived sugar complex that binds to the keratin of the skin surface and resists rinsing off, a moisture deposit left behind by a wash-off product, which is precisely the trick most hydrating cleansers only claim.

The ferment and fibre bench

Fermented rice lees, the sake-brewing by-product prized for skin softness, a yeast ferment filtrate, prebiotic inulin and glycolipids round out the hydration story.

The role in the method

Worth knowing

Contains sodium metabisulfite, avoid with a known sulfite sensitivity. Fragrance-free. Removes light makeup; pair with the Lipid-Balance Cleansing Oil for heavy makeup and SPF evenings.

Morning and evening: massage a small amount over damp skin, then rinse with lukewarm water, skin should finish soft, not squeaky.

As a double-cleanse second step it follows the Lipid-Balance Cleansing Oil.
