The C-Tetra logic, scaled to the eye

Tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate is the same oil-soluble, stable form of vitamin C that runs through the C-Tetra range: it does not oxidise in the bottle, it slips into the lipid-rich skin around the eye without stinging, and it converts to active vitamin C once inside. Vitamin E rides alongside, the classic antioxidant pair that regenerates each other as they work.

What it is for

Daily antioxidant defence for the thinnest skin on the face, where UV and oxidative stress show first as fine lines and dullness, with a brightening effect on tired, shadowed under-eyes over weeks of use.

The texture

An anhydrous jojoba oil-serum carried in light, quick-evaporating silicones, so it feels like nothing under eye cream or concealer and does not migrate into the eye.

The fit

The morning eye step of a Medik8 CSA routine, mirroring C-Tetra on the face. Crystal Retinal Ceramide Eye takes the night.

Anyone adding a morning antioxidant step for the eye area; dull or shadowed under-eyes; early fine lines; and skin that finds water-based vitamin C too sharp near the eyes.

Worth knowing

Scented with grapefruit peel oil, with declared limonene, citral, linalool and geraniol: avoid with a citrus or fragrance allergy and patch test if the eye area is reactive. Suitable in pregnancy. An oil-serum, so a very small amount is enough.

Mornings: one drop, warmed between the ring fingers and patted around the orbital bone, outer corner inward below and along the brow bone above. Follow with moisturiser and SPF. Can be repeated in the evening on nights without a retinoid eye product.

Avoid the lash line and the eyelid itself.
