How it works

Retinol, slowed and partnered

The retinol here is microencapsulated and time-released, so 0.25% is delivered steadily across the night rather than all at once, which is what makes a retinol cream usable nightly. Bakuchiol, a plant compound shown to produce retinol-like results with less irritation, is paired with it to extend the effect.

The support cast

Palmitoyl tripeptide-38 and acetyl tetrapeptide-2 work on the look of lines and firmness, tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate and coenzyme Q10 add antioxidant cover, and a ceramide NP, AP and EOP complex with cholesterol and phytosphingosine rebuilds the barrier while the retinol works. Goji, astragalus and rosemary round out the botanicals.

A night cream and a retinoid in one step for skin that wants the results without a separate serum and a separate moisturiser.

Early to moderate lines, laxity and uneven texture; retinol users who want a gentler cream format; and anyone consolidating a night routine into one product.

How to use

Evenings on clean skin: one to two pumps smoothed over face and neck, avoiding the eye area, after serums. Start three nights a week and build to nightly as tolerated. SPF every morning.

Use alongside

Over D·E·J Daily Boosting Serum or Advanced Pigment Corrector+ at night. Do not combine with another retinoid or a leave-on acid on the same night. D·E·J Eye Cream goes on first so the retinol stays off the lids.
