Built for pigment’s worst enemy

Unwanted pigment is provoked by remarkably little light, for melasma-prone skin, brief incidental exposure can undo weeks of treatment. This formula answers with a seven-filter stack: octocrylene and homosalate for UVB, avobenzone for long UVA held photostable by bemotrizinol and methylene bis-benzotriazolyl tetramethylbutylphenol, polysilicone-15 bridging the middle, and mineral titanium dioxide reinforcing throughout.

The tint is part of the protection

Three iron oxides tone the fluid and screen part of visible light, the band beyond UV that research implicates in provoking melasma. For pigment patients this makes a tinted formula functionally superior to a clear one of equal rating.

Water resistant for 40 minutes, tested under dermatological control, in a shake-before-use fluid that spreads evenly at a generous dose.

The claims, precisely

SPF 50+, very SPF 50+ protection against solar radiation; used as directed, it may reduce the risk of some skin cancers and can aid in the prevention of sunspots. No sunscreen blocks everything: avoid prolonged sun, and add protective clothing, a hat and eyewear.

Worth knowing

Contains fragrance, patch test with a known fragrance allergy, and ethanol. Not for broken, damaged or diseased skin; keep out of the eyes. Shake before each use so the mineral and tint phases are evenly mixed.

Shake well. Apply generously to all exposed areas 20 minutes before sun exposure as the final skincare step. Reapply every two hours, more often when sweating, and always after swimming or towelling; water resistance lasts 40 minutes.
