How it works

Three routes to the same pigment

Unwanted pigment is a supply chain: something provokes it, an enzyme manufactures it, and cells hand it upward into view. This formula works all three stages at once.

The provoker, tranexamic acid

Tranexamic acid moderates the plasmin signalling that inflammation and UV use to switch pigment production on, the reason research keeps returning to it for melasma-type, stubborn, recurring pigment that laughs at simpler brighteners.

The factory and the courier

Kojic acid, the fermentation-derived classic, competes for the copper at the heart of tyrosinase, the enzyme that manufactures melanin, while niacinamide, sitting high at fourth in the formula, has been shown to interrupt the transfer of pigment packages from the cells that make them to the skin cells that display them. A modern peptide (acetyl glycyl beta-alanine) adds a further tyrosinase-signalling brake.

The housekeeping

Low doses of lactic and salicylic acid keep already-marked surface cells moving on, so what you gain underneath shows sooner.

The non-negotiable

Every pigment program lives or dies by sun protection, a high daily SPF is not an accessory to this product; it is half of it.

Who it suits

Stubborn, recurring pigmentation, post-blemish marks, and uneven tone that has outlasted gentler brighteners, as the committed daily step of an actual program rather than a casual add-on.

Worth knowing

Contains sodium metabisulfite, avoid with a known sulfite sensitivity, plus fragrance. Pigmentation that appears or worsens with pregnancy or hormonal medication deserves a clinician’s assessment before you treat it from the shelf; our doctors see exactly this, and the right plan sometimes starts in the clinic rather than the bathroom.

How to use

Morning and evening on clean, dry skin: massage a small amount over the full face, treating only the patches invites an edge line, followed by moisturiser if needed and, every morning without exception, a high SPF.

Give it a proper run: pigment programs are judged in months, not weeks.

Layering

Use alongside

It is the pigment leader of a routine, the same chair Complete Pigment Radiance or Pigment Punch + occupies on the other shelves, so run one, not two. A gentle cleanser before it, moisturiser and SPF over it; on retinoid nights, alternate rather than stack until your skin proves it can carry both. Aox Ferulic in the morning is a natural teammate, antioxidants and pigment control pull in the same direction.
