Hydration without oil

Glycerin, butylene glycol and sodium hyaluronate draw water into the surface layers, and a phosphorylcholine polymer, modelled on the water-binding head-groups of the skin’s own membrane lipids, helps hold it there.

The weightless seal

Instead of oils and butters, a lattice of volatile and cross-linked silicones slows water loss while feeling like nothing on the skin, the reason gel textures like this suit skin that finds creams occlusive.

The refining pair

Chios mastic gum, a Greek resin studied for its effect on sebum output and the appearance of pores, works alongside witch hazel’s tannin astringency, hydration and shine control in the same step.

No fragrance

The formula carries no added fragrance or essential oils.

Combination, oily and congestion-prone skin that still needs real hydration, and anyone who finds conventional creams sit heavily or contribute to breakouts. Its fragrance-free formula also makes it the Cosmedix moisturiser for fragrance-sensitive skin.

Worth knowing

Witch hazel is a mild astringent, comfortable for its intended oilier skin types, but a compromised or very reactive barrier is usually better served by a richer cream such as Humidify, or the Aspect Dr barrier range. If congestion persists despite consistent care, our clinicians can assess it in person.

Morning and evening, smooth over face and neck as the final step (before SPF in the morning).

Over Clarity it completes the blemish-prone routine; over Surge Serum on damp skin it becomes a full hydration step with no oil anywhere in it.

Use alongside

Any serum in the range, it is the oil-free counterpart to Humidify. Natural over Clarity or Simply Brilliant by day, and the light buffer over Refine or Serum 16 at night. In colder months, oilier skin sometimes keeps Skin Thirst for the morning and moves to Humidify at night.
