Two problems, one serum

Adult skin often gets breakouts and fine lines together, and most products treat one at the expense of the other. This formula was built for both: oil-soluble salicylic acid and lipo-hydroxy acid (LHA) clear the pore lining and reduce congestion, dioic acid helps regulate sebum, and glycolic and citric acids exfoliate the surface for smoother texture and a more even tone.

The result

Fewer and smaller blemishes, less shine, refined pores and a visible softening of fine lines over the weeks of use, without the heavy drying of a classic acne treatment.

Oily and combination skin with adult breakouts, blackheads and enlarged pores that also wants to work on fine lines and texture; and anyone who has outgrown teenage acne products but still gets congested.

Worth knowing

An alcohol-based gel, which is what gives it the fast-drying, oil-cutting finish and is exactly why it is wrong for dry or sensitive skin. Contains salicylic acid and exfoliating acids: not for salicylate (aspirin) sensitivity, and seek advice if pregnant or breastfeeding. Increases sun sensitivity, so a daily SPF is non-negotiable. Fragrance-free.

Start in the evening only: after cleansing, apply 4 to 5 drops to face and neck and allow to absorb before moisturiser.

Once skin tolerates it, it can be used morning and evening. Follow with Ultra Facial Defense or another listed SPF every morning.

Use alongside

Simply Clean before it, Silymarin CF in the morning if using it once a day, and a lightweight moisturiser over the top. Alternate nights with the Retinol night creams rather than layering acids and retinol together.
