A night-use resurfacing treatment combining retinol with exfoliating acids, for experienced users under practitioner guidance.

When to use Evening, 2 nights a week building as tolerated
How it works

An AHA trio with a vitamin A engine

L-lactic acid leads, joined by tartaric and malic, three alpha-hydroxy acids of different sizes working the surface, while retinyl acetate, retinol and retinyl palmitate convert toward retinoic acid at three speeds beneath it. Surface and cellular resurfacing in the same cream is what puts this in the advisory tier.

The antioxidant thread

Fermented resveratrol and its stabilised ether, with vitamin E in two forms and carrot extract, defence running alongside the resurfacing.

The buffering

Witch hazel water, bisabolol, allantoin, aloe and marshmallow root are woven through to keep a working formula wearable.

Non-negotiable

Evenings only; retinisation-plus-acid adjustment is real. Daily broad-spectrum SPF every morning, without exception.

Who it suits

Experienced actives users working on texture, tone and fine lines together, skin already comfortable with nightly retinol or regular acids.

Not the place to start

New to either pathway? Build tolerance with a single-pathway product first.

Not suitable

During pregnancy or while breastfeeding, in line with standard retinoid guidance.

How to use

Evenings only. Start with a pea-sized amount two nights a week on clean, dry skin, building slowly as tolerated.

Follow with moisturiser. SPF every morning is part of using this product.

Layering

Use alongside

A gentle cleanse (Benefit Clean) and a plain moisturiser. That is the whole evening on Define nights.

Keep apart from

All other retinoids, exfoliating acids, Pure Enzymes and Purity Clean on the same day, this cream is already both pathways.
