Discoloration Defense

Sale price$191.00

A targeted serum for stubborn, deep-set pigmentation: 3% tranexamic acid with 1% kojic acid, 5% niacinamide and 5% HEPES, for a more even tone that stays even.

When to use Morning and evening, after antioxidant serum, before moisturiser
How it works

The tone triad

Tranexamic acid, at 3%, works on the signalling that keeps skin overproducing pigment in the same places; 1% kojic acid tempers the enzyme that manufactures it; 5% niacinamide slows its handover to the surface. Three different points on the pigment pathway, addressed in one serum.

The fourth act

HEPES at 5% gently supports the skin's natural surface turnover, so pigment already deposited moves on sooner, while hydroxyethyl urea and allantoin keep the formula comfortable enough for twice-daily use.

The patience clause

Tone work is gradual chemistry in both directions. This serum is measured in weeks and months rather than days, and its record across published 12-week studies is precisely why it earned a place on this shelf.

Who it suits

Stubborn, deep-set pigmentation that has outlasted simpler brighteners; post-blemish marks that linger long after the blemish; and pigment-prone skin building a maintenance routine around daily SPF.

Worth knowing

Fragrance-free, and free of retinoids and exfoliating acids, so it slots into sensitive routines and works morning and night. Daily SPF is not optional with pigment work: without it, the serum is rowing against the tide.

How to use

Morning and evening on cleansed skin: one to two pumps over the face or the areas that need it, before moisturiser.

SPF every morning, without exception, for as long as tone is the project.

Layering

Use alongside

Under Melan 130 by day, the pairing this serum was made for, with C E Ferulic ahead of it if you run a full antioxidant morning. At night it sits comfortably beside a retinal, whose quicker surface turnover works in the serum's favour.

Before you start

Not suitable if
