Green cancels red, on sight

Calmwise Colour Correct carries a sheer green mineral tint, chromium hydroxide green with a little yellow and blue, that sits opposite red on the colour wheel and neutralises flushing, broken capillaries and blemish redness the moment it is on. It blends to skin tone rather than looking green, and it is the instant half of the product.

Calming the cause

The slower half is a bench of redness actives: niacinamide to strengthen the barrier and damp down the inflammation that drives flushing, potassium azeloyl diglycinate, a gentle water-soluble azelaic acid derivative with a long record in rosacea, bakuchiol and silybin as antioxidants, caffeine to constrict surface blood vessels, and bisabolol, oat, aloe and green tea to soothe. Palmitoyl tripeptide-8 is a peptide studied for calming neurogenic redness.

The texture

A light cream that doubles as a moisturiser for skin that reacts to richer ones, with enough slip to go under sunscreen and makeup.

The last skincare step of a redness-calming morning, and the product that lets flush-prone skin skip heavy foundation.

Worth knowing

Fragrance-free. The green tint is sheer and disappears into most skin tones, but it is a tint: apply thinly and blend. Contains benzyl alcohol as a preservative, declared for anyone sensitive to it. Not a sunscreen; SPF goes over it.

Mornings, after serum: a pea-sized amount warmed between fingers and pressed over areas of redness, or the whole face, then blended until the green disappears. Follow with SPF, and makeup if wanted.

Can be used at night as a light moisturiser on reactive skin.

Use alongside

Over Calmwise Serum or Hydr8 B5 in the morning, under your SPF. Under Glow Fixation or PurePressed Base on days you want coverage; the green underneath means less foundation on top. Pause leave-on acids and strong retinoids while skin is flushing.
