Phytostat 9

A classic cream, done properly

Phytostat 9 is built on the traditional moisturiser architecture: humectants (glycerin) to draw water in, a nine-strong blend of plant oils and butters to soften, and light occlusives to slow water loss. Nothing exotic in the mechanism, the quality is in the blend.

Seabuckthorn and the oil complex

Seabuckthorn contributes omega-7, a fatty acid close to skin’s own surface lipids, alongside sunflower, shea, almond and macadamia, a fatty-acid spread that covers what dry skin is missing.

The peptide

Caprooyl tetrapeptide-3 is included for the look of firmness, a quiet upgrade over a plain barrier cream.

The retinoid partner

A well-cushioned, unactive moisturiser is exactly what a retinoid routine needs alongside it, applied after (or before, as a buffer) Retinol Brulee or Retinal LGS+.

Normal to dry skin wanting one dependable daily cream, and anyone running actives who needs a supportive, non-competing moisturiser.

Worth knowing

Contains sweet almond and macadamia oils, not suitable with a tree nut allergy. Ylang ylang and several declared fragrance allergens (including eugenol) mean fragrance-reactive skin should patch test.

Morning and evening, massage a small amount over face and neck after serums.

Under SPF in the morning; as the final step (or retinoid buffer) at night.

Use alongside

Everything, moisturiser is the neutral last step. Pairs naturally with Extreme B 17 or Extreme C 20 underneath, and with the retinoids at night, applied over them or first as a buffer for sensitive skin.
