Fruit Enzyme Mask

Sale price$72.00

A weekly exfoliating mask built around fruit enzymes and gentle acids for dull, congested skin.

When to use Once or twice weekly, 10 minutes, evenings
How it works

Exfoliation by digestion

Papain and pineapple enzymes are proteases, they break down the protein bonds holding dull, already-loose surface cells, and only those. Unlike scrubs there is no friction, and unlike stronger acids the action is self-limiting: the enzymes work while the mask is wet and stop when it comes off.

The fruit garden

Pomegranate, blackcurrant, black raspberry, blueberry, amla, camu camu, goji, açaí and grape supply the polyphenol antioxidants, including two of the most vitamin-C-dense fruits known, with fermented pomegranate and radish root adding conditioning support.

The comfort base

Aloe and panthenol underneath keep the ten minutes soothing rather than tingly-for-tingly’s-sake.

After masking

Freshly exfoliated skin appreciates sunscreen the next morning, enzymatic or not, the new surface is more UV-sensitive.

Who it suits

Dull, tired or rough-textured skin wanting a weekly reset, including skin too sensitive for scrubs or leave-on acids, since enzyme exfoliation is the gentlest of the three routes.

Worth knowing

People with a latex allergy can cross-react with papaya and pineapple enzymes and should patch test carefully. Contains clementine oil and lavender extract with declared limonene.

How to use

Once or twice a week, apply an even layer to clean, dry skin, avoiding the eye area.

Leave ten minutes, then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Follow with serum and moisturiser as usual.

Layering
