An exfoliating cleanse, meant as one

Lactic acid sits fourth in this formula, unusually high for a cleanser and deliberately so. Even at rinse-off contact times, that level begins loosening the bonds holding dull surface cells, which is why this counts as gentle exfoliation rather than incidental acid.

The clarifying blend

Neem and tea tree, both associated in research with antimicrobial activity, with turmeric, holy basil, coccinia and eggplant extracts working the congestion side, and aloe keeping the finish calm.

The wake-up

Lavender and peppermint oils bring the fresh, tingling rinse, sensation, not irritation, but worth knowing about.

Because it exfoliates

Treat it as part of your exfoliation budget: ease off on nights you use other acids or retinoids, and keep morning SPF consistent.

Oily, congested and dull-prone skin wanting an active cleanse, and skin that likes the just-scrubbed feeling without a scrub.

Worth knowing

Contains lavender, peppermint and tea tree oils; patch test if reactive to any. Reactive or dry skin should reach for Benefit Clean instead.

Once or twice daily, work into a lather on damp skin, massage for thirty seconds, and rinse thoroughly.

If using strong evening actives, make this the morning cleanse rather than doubling up at night.

A congestion-focused routine, and count it toward total exfoliation when planning acid or retinoid nights.

Leave-on acids or retinoids in the same session where skin runs sensitive, alternate rather than stack.
