Two weights of the same molecule

Sodium hyaluronate holds up to a thousand times its weight in water at the skin surface; hydrolysed hyaluronic acid is fragmented small enough to settle into the upper layers and hydrate from slightly deeper. Using both is how an HA serum avoids the surface-only effect.

More than water

Niacinamide sits third, high for a hydration serum, bringing its barrier-lipid and tone associations along; carrageenan from red seaweed adds a cushioning polysaccharide film; and gentle PHAs condition without exfoliating at these levels.

The base

Kiwi fruit water rather than plain water, with a garden of fruit and flower extracts contributing antioxidant polyphenols.

The humectant rule

Humectants need something to hold, apply to damp skin and seal with moisturiser, and in very dry air never wear a humectant serum unsealed.

Dehydrated skin of any type, including oily skin that lacks water rather than oil, and any routine wanting its hydration step to work harder.

Worth knowing

The fruit and flower extracts carry four declared fragrance allergens; patch test if fragrance-reactive.

Morning and evening, press four to five drops into clean, still-damp skin.

Follow promptly with moisturiser to seal, the pairing is the point.

Everything, hydration serums are universal mixers. First after cleansing (thinnest first), under any active, moisturiser and SPF; the comfort layer alongside retinoids and acids.
