Illuminating Polish

Sale price$72.00

A physical exfoliating polish combining fine granules with fruit-derived acids for surface texture and radiance.

When to use Two to three evenings a week, after cleansing
How it works

Three kinds of exfoliation

Dull skin is mostly a build-up of loose surface cells. This polish removes them three ways at once: spherical jojoba ester beads lift them physically, a low level of lactic acid and fruit-derived AHAs loosen the bonds holding them, and papaya enzyme (papain) breaks down the surface protein they cling by.

Why the combination is gentler than it sounds

Because each mechanism only has to do a third of the work, each runs at a gentle level, round beads rather than sharp fragments, rinse-off acid contact times, and an enzyme that acts only on the loose outer layer.

The comfort layer

Panthenol, chamomile, arnica and Canadian Willowherb are blended in to keep the after-feel calm rather than scrubbed.

After exfoliating

Freshly exfoliated skin is more sensitive to UV. Daily broad-spectrum sunscreen matters most in the days after use.

Who it suits

Dull, rough or uneven-textured skin, and skin that looks tired despite a good routine. Suits most skin types, face and body.

Worth knowing

Contains citrus oils (orange, pink grapefruit, bergamot) with declared limonene and linalool. Fragrance-sensitive skin should patch test. Keep off broken skin and active breakouts, exfoliating over inflamed spots sets them back.

How to use

Two to three evenings a week, massage a pearl-sized amount over damp skin in light circular motions, avoiding the eye area.

Remove with a damp cloth in soft, sweeping movements, then continue your routine. Follow with SPF each morning, exfoliated skin needs it.

Layering

Use alongside

Any routine, on nights when you are not using retinoids or leave-on exfoliating acids, stacking exfoliation is where irritation comes from.

Sits naturally after a first cleanse and before serums or masks.
