Two kinds of antioxidant

Classic antioxidants, EGCG, resveratrol, vitamin E, glutathione, neutralise free radicals by sacrificing themselves, one for one. The spin trap works differently: it binds radicals into stable complexes and takes them out of circulation. Running both mechanisms at once is this serum’s idea.

The enzyme layer

Superoxide dismutase keeps catalysing rather than being consumed, and carnosine adds its association with protection against glycation, the sugar-protein stiffening implicated in loss of spring.

The firming feel

Soy and pea proteins form a light tensing film, the immediate ‘affirm’, while phytic acid and glucosamine support tone over time.

Where it fits

A daily defence serum, morning-natural under SPF, and the antioxidant anchor of a routine whose evenings belong to a retinoid.

Worth knowing

Contains soy and pea proteins, relevant for soy or legume allergy, and white grapefruit and sandalwood oils; patch test if fragrance-reactive. The brisk, fast-drying base suits normal to oily skin best; very dry skin should layer moisturiser promptly after.

Mornings (and evenings if desired), smooth four to five drops over clean, dry skin before moisturiser.

Follow with SPF in the morning, antioxidants and sunscreen are a team, not alternatives.

Use alongside

Everything, antioxidant serums are natural mixers. Under moisturiser and SPF by day; pairs with an evening retinoid (Refine, Serum 16) from the other end of the clock.
