Rescue

A recovery balm and mask combining Canadian willowherb, centella and calendula in a shea butter base, for compromised and post-procedure skin as directed.

When to use As needed, overnight balm or 20-minute mask
How it works

The calming core

Canadian willowherb, researched for its ability to quiet the visible signs of irritation, leads a soothing bench of centella, calendula, panthenol and copper gluconate, with cherry-bark and butcher’s-broom extracts supporting the look of redness-prone skin.

The barrier blanket

Shea butter and canola oil form the occlusive base that compromised skin needs, while corn starch and silica take the grease out of the finish, a balm that protects like an ointment without sitting like one.

The quiet refiner

A low dose of L-mandelic acid, the largest and gentlest of the alpha-hydroxy acids, keeps the surface from building up while skin recovers, without asking anything of it.

Balm or mask

Thin layer as an overnight balm; generous layer for twenty minutes as a rinse-off recovery mask.

Who it suits

Skin recovering from clinic treatments, peels, needling, laser, once the surface has closed and your practitioner has cleared skincare; also windburn, retinoid overshoot, and any stretch where the barrier needs a blanket rather than a routine.

Worth knowing

Contains calendula, a daisy-family plant, patch test if you have an Asteraceae allergy. Wait until broken or weeping skin has closed before use, and follow your practitioner’s post-treatment instructions where they differ from the label.

How to use

As a balm: massage a thin layer over clean skin at night, alone or as the final step. As a mask: apply a generous layer to clean skin, leave for twenty minutes, and tissue or rinse off.

Post-procedure, use exactly as your practitioner directs, timing matters more than technique.

Layering

Use alongside

During recovery, keep it simple: Benefit Clean, Rescue, SPF by day. It pairs with Harmonize once skin is ready for a normal routine again, and it is the product to reach for the week after starting Refine or Serum 16 if the skin overshoots. Not a nightly staple for healthy skin, it is the fire blanket, not the fireplace.

Before you start

Not suitable if

  • Asteraceae (daisy family) allergy — contains calendula
  • Broken or weeping skin — wait until the surface has closed

Good to know

  • Patch test on a small area of skin before first full use
